Heating and cooling

With Katherm HK trench technology, energy-efficient and noise-optimized heating and cooling is possible at all system temperatures, including low-temperature and heat pump operation. They are suitable for all types of buildings in which, due to internal loads and solar radiation through large glazed façades, a predominantly higher cooling load occurs.

Supply air connection

Use the possibility of introducing primary air into the building with Katherm HK - optionally via supply air modules or supply air ducts. The new Katherm HK P (height 160 mm, width 310 mm) has primary air connections with air spigots or air intake via the raised floor.

Four trench widths and three width-dependent trench heights are available to choose from. Depending on the on-site requirements, 6 different product-specific lengths are available for all performance requirements in the 2-pipe and 4-pipe system.

Custom-made solutions

Custom-made solutions are possible for any building architecture with individual geometries. This applies to the trench and the grille. Available examples include:

  • mitred corners
  • curved versions
  • angles and slopes
  • column cut-outs
  • various grille variants
  • frame edges

Optimized air distribution in cooling mode

Katherm Hk glass façades

Use in high cooling loads

  • for rooms with high cooling load and special requirements for comfort
  • the units are generally arranged directly at the façade without any greater distance
  • cost-effective effective cooling, especially with large glazed façades

Comfort in cooling mode

  • low air outlet velocities and an optimized air outlet ensure optimum comfort in cooling mode
  • cooled air rising at the façade forms an air roll and flows into the room without drafts
  • ensures the best possible shielding of the glazed façade

Condensate drain

Every Katherm HK is equipped with a condensate tray that collects the condensate produced in cooling mode and drains it safely from the trench. Condensate removal is achieved by a natural fall or optionally by a supplied or factory-mounted condensate pump .

 

Lowest sound levels due to acoustic decoupling

Katherm HK is used in acoustically sensitive rooms because the smooth-running tangential fans are mounted with acoustic decoupling thanks to the innovative combined coupling/ball stud system.

For maintenance purposes, the fan can be removed or installed without tools.

Protection during installation and construction

Katherm HK is carefully packaged for delivery. In addition, the trenches are protected against dirt and damage with a sustainable paper cover.

As the trenches are often installed in the building at an early stage of interior finishing, a wooden installation cover for protection during the construction phase can also be inserted at the factory for an additional charge.

The grilles are then delivered separately packaged.

Hygiene-certified

Thanks to its well-thought-out design, thorough cleaning in accordance with the requirements of the VDI 6022 hygiene guideline is easily possible. The condensate tray that can be pulled out toward the room enables complete cleaning of the tray. 

Life cycle assessment data (EPDs)

We assess the environmental impact of our products across their entire life cycle („cradle to cradle“) and publish the results transparently in our Environmental Product Declarations (EPD). These EPDs can be easily integrated into leading building certification systems such as DGNB, BREEAM or LEED and are available in the download section.

ErP-compliant ventilation

Separate ventilation and temperature control with a hybrid ventilation concept: The combination of central ventilation via an AHU unit and decentralized air conditioning with pumped hot water and chilled water enables efficient heating and cooling.
